Outdoor Activities

Charges for activities differ by activity.  It is not the Troop goal to make money on an activity, but to just recover the cost of the outing.  Once a Scout signs up for an activity he will be charged for attending the activity unless he removes his name from the sign up list no later than the Tuesday meeting before the activity.  Some activities require that we make advance payment for activities; in that event, once we have made payment, the Scout will be charged as if  he attended unless someone is on the waiting list that can fill the Scout's place.

In estimating the cost for outdoor activities this policy was established.  Estimates will be as accurate as possible.  In the event an activity was under estimated, the Troop would need to collect from those attending.  In the event the activity was estimated and the actual cost was less, the following applies:  When the amount is $5.00 or less no refund will be given back to those attending, and an amount greater than $5.00 will go to the boys' accounts.

Transportation cost to and from activities is shared by all the Scouts and leaders that ride with someone.  The drivers for an activity will fill their vehicle with fuel before meeting to leave and immediately after returning will top off the fuel tank again.  They will submit their receipt no later than the second meeting following the activity to the treasurer.   The total of all the fuel cost submitted will be divided among all those that rode and charged to their Scout account.  Drivers are not required to pay a part of the fuel cost as they furnished the vehicle.  Scout and parent that drive together with no other riders will be excluded from the calculations.
